Egyptians Need Stability and Representation

Egypt is on the brink of civil war and the military must move quickly to establish national reconciliation among all Egyptians.

Mohamed Morsi was democratically-elected as president by a majority of the people, and must be allowed to go free to begin the process of reconciliation. While terrorism and extremism should not be allowed, the Islamic perspective should be represented in Egypt’s government.

Morsi failed to respect the rights of the non-Islamic segment of the population, which led to his downfall, but the military should avoid making the same mistake with respect to the Islamic segment of the population.

It’s time for national reconciliation, while the focus ought to be on improving the economy and people’s lives, because Egypt’s economy has worsened post-Mubarak!
