Now that President Obama is in Africa, he should take the opportunity to galvanize interest in improving the continent’s economy and people’s lives, by saying the OAU ought to become an economic bloc, like NAFTA and the EU. Such a free-trade zone would boost Africa’s economies; improve people’s lives; raise revenues for investments in society, infrastructure; set stage for economic, political, social progress; and stem terrorism and extremism, possibly.

It is time for Africa to stick up for itself and become self-sufficient, while use its vast natural resources to benefit its own people!
